![]() ![]() ![]() Starting from simple geometric shapes, to complex designs: FreeCAD is a free CAD program with all the essential features. Nevertheless, describing 3D objects via a script is more complicated than via a GUI for most tasks, which led me to FreeCAD. Having written certain scripts from time to time, it was not difficult for me to get started with OpenSCAD. One advantage of the script language is that variables can be used for the described elements and thus they can be adjusted centrally. To merge multiple objects into one, they can be joined with "union()", or subtracted from each other with intersection(). a cube with 15mm edge length: "cube(15)" or a sphere with 10mm radius: "sphere(10)". That means, each object is a function with certain parameters e.g. Any feedback from others about FreeCAD V0.21.1 would be welcome.Objects are described in OpenSCAD using a simple scripting language. However, jbotbot has been having issues and I'm not sure what to attribute any of these troubles to. However, the macro ran without issue on FreeCAD V0.21.1 and after restarting FreeCAD, I was able to open Python scripts from BikeCAD once again.Īll this is to say, that I have not encountered any troubles with FreeCAD V0.21.1. ![]() It was necessary to run the Requests macro again. ![]() With this folder deleted, I could no longer open Python scripts from BikeCAD. However, in order to examine whether or not the macro that installs the Requests library works on a fresh intallation of FreeCAD V0.21.1, I deleted the folder C:\Users\MyUsername\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python38 which I've learned is where the Requests library gets stored. It was not necessary for me to install the Requests library again. Having installed the Requests library in V0.20.2 before, it appeared to have carried over into V0.21.1. When I installed FreeCAD V0.21.1 it actually just worked for me right away. I've been having a back and forth about this offline and I figured I'd update others in case anyone else has any issues with this. ![]()
